Devon County Youth Brass Band

If you're aged 11-21 and play a brass instrument, this is your chance to be part of something amazing! Directed by local brass band musicians Chris Spreadbury and Matt Hawkins, along with support from local peripatetic tutors, the band meets on six Sundays during the school year in Exeter.

Students spend the day, from 10am-4pm, playing music from all genres, improving their skills, and making new friends.

If you or your child are Grade 4 standard and above, and are looking to join a high-level youth ensemble, come join us for some great rehearsals and get ready to take your brass playing to the next level!

Beginning the the year with a bang!

On Sunday 20th October, we began the new era of DCYBB with a bang! We hosted 4 amazingly talented musicians from British National Champions, the Flowers Band. Thanks go to Luke, Emily, Matt and Gregor - who treated our members to their endless expertise, and a fantastic day of music making! We hope to see everyone again soon, and here is how you can sign up...

Sign up for 2024-2025

If you would like to join us for the rest of 2024-2025, you can sign up using the form below. Fees for this year are £60, which we think is a bargain! (£10 per session, or £2 per hour that your child is with us!).

If you are already a member of Devon Youth Chamber Brass, and would like to be a member of both, then you qualify for a discounted membership fee of £100 for both ensembles (this works out as less than £8 for a rehearsal!)

Our next meeting day is Sunday 24th November. To view our full term dates, visit our term dates page. If you can't for any reason attend a date, that's no problem, just let us know so that we know not to expect you. All members will receive details of the day in advance, including access to music, timetables for the day, and location in formation.

Paying fees

We can offer the following payment options:

Single £60 annual payment
6 x monthly payments of £10
